Looking at computerClick here if you need help in finding a short-term volunteer mission project.  You will need to provide the following information: potential dates, type(s) of mission opportunity, approximate size and age range of group, distance you are willing to travel, and any other important information that will help in placing you.  ARM works with over 400 locations in Appalachia in short-term volunteer missions.  These locations will range from ministry centers to established churches, from potential areas for new church starts to new church starts.


Urgent Projects

 

Immediate help needed in NC: Enon Baptist Church, 174 Ammons Branch Road, Marshall, NC, has an immediate need for volunteers to hang and finish sheet rock, to help with putting in a tongue and groove ceiling, and building a stage. The church is a part of the French Broad Baptist Association. Wes Pike, DOM (828-689-2845). The pastor is Kevin Boone. For more information you can contact him at 828-649-9505. Immediate help needed in southern West Virginia: Nehemiah Baptist Church, Cool Ridge, WV has an immediate need for a volunteer construction team to build two sets of stairs - one inside the building and another on the outside. Until the stairs are installed the youth are having to meet outside.

Immediate need in north Georgia: Global Youth Ministry, Chatsworth, GA is in need of completing a cabin. The needs are:
What yet remains for the building to be occupied is to:

  • Finish taping and mudding the bottom floor which has drywall, (the top two floors are already painted)

  • Plumbing of sinks and setting the toilets on the bottom floor (two sink bases and three toilets)

  • Finish the laminate flooring in the basement hallway

  • Install the septic system

In 2008, GYM held 30 camps on 4 continents and over 1500 decisions for Christ.
